Thread: New fly rod advice - weight and brands/models?

I loved my 6wgt 4piece Fenwick, my go to rod. I really only fish the lakes. I have around 4 9whts rods, C D , loomis etc, but that little Fenwick was my favourite. This budget rod I have just brought will snap the tips off just as easily as any of my other 8 fly rods. Line is important and so is a decent reel. The most important feature is the presentation of the fly and money doesn't pay that.
