I also snuck away today for a fish and to mow the lawn at the Bach, after a busy Sunday nite chasing prowlers. Result's, 9 snappa ,1 john dory and Tilly my little Australian Terrier. So a trip to the vet, with no chance to mow the lawn and $150.00 bucks later,I now have a very subdued Tilly on my lap whilst Fish is being caught for tea.

Toby you should have stuck the hook in ya nose like Maui did. you could have fished up another North Island. Fuck that would make the Mainlanders jealous.

I leave the master bait comment or I'll get in trouble but google "Ella from cowboys and aliens"

I remember my grandads old bait jar was full of salted tua tua and when you took the lid off it would damn near knock you over with the smell but by golly it was damn good bait he always used to come home with fish and more tua tuas for the bait jar. here is a tip to make squid into really good effective bait chuck it in rock salt till it goes rubbery and store it in a small bucket with lid or container and cover it in ultrabite fish oil or any other tuna oil you can get to re-oil the bait and leave in in the oil as it won't go off and take it like that when you go fishing used to get lots of fish on that brew i even used to throw oil in my rock fishing burley mix I used to make too so it would not freeze solid and that stuff used to really turn the fish on.
