    What strength line for a seven giller shark

    Gday going to try my luck at catching a seven giller sometime and wonder lb line I need going to buy steel trace also

    It's been years but I've caught them surf casting off the Waianakarua coast down here with 25 lb line and a wire trace
    Must admit to being busted off a few times as well though.
    It's not so bad when they run up and down the beach, it's when they head for Chile that the trouble starts.

    A good 100lb leader and a cirle hook would do. Only need steel if your gut hooking the poor sods
