    Campsite Central North Island

    Managed to wangle a couple of days off on Matariki week
    Usually the mutt and I camp at Stoney Creek in the Ahimanawa Ranges.
    After somewhere different, dog friendly and preferably nice and quiet
    Was looking at Waikoko Campsite.
    Any comments or suggestions?

    Havent stayed there but passed through,its pretty much the first stop for freedom campers and foreign travellers after visiting taupo/turangi or before.Upgraded crapper and warnings about water.Area worth a look around for hydro work and scenery.

    Their is a keen rooster who hunts in SC and uses a hammock as his tent. No fire. Gets quite a few stags. Sees lotsa hunters who dont even know he is there. He is very selective now. The video replacing his rifle on many hunts.
