TVNZ have a short clip (couple of minutes) for each day of the event. Doesn't really show much but does show you the country they are in.

At least they have had the wind in their favor for the paddling today. There is going to be a stiff SE wind tomorrow which will make things more difficult I would imagine.

The wind is in favour of the full course teams, not so much the Pursuit teams.
There's been a steady stream of them walking past and launching down the beach into a stiff headwind and whitecap waves unti they're into Hopai bay, from Hopai over to Waimaru they're side on.

Its calming down now, Spring Callenge are pumping up their rafts on the beach and should have a great evening paddle

Course has been adjusted for everyone other than fair youth and rab. Race director said it is due to the southerly forecast tomorrow.

All other teams that make the 1am T6 cutoff will then follow the pursuit course but will still be in contention for the pure course placings

Thanks for that. I've been to many of the places shown. Great part of the world.

I'd be into this race if I was 30 years younger, but actually looks like some people my age racing - great to see!

Not sure of highest age. Certainly has bene some in late 60s at past GZ. Not unusual to see some 70s in shorter ARs and rogaines. Great fun and a reason to go adventuring with mates.

    Its raining at my place!

Poor buggers pretty sure the last thing they need now is a wet cold southerly day !
Mt Stokes will be bloody miserable !

Just looked at the leader board and it shows Fear in 3rd yet clearly on the map they are still in second or is that because of the course change, which would be deeply unfair on them.

If you open their profile, it says they’re guaranteed second if they finish, as all others are on the shorter course now.

Fear and Rab are not effected by the course change. The leaderboard has often been out in that area during the course of the race.
    Tracking is better

Its raining pretty consistent, had Macpac camp on the front lawn last night, and its been a busy morning already boiling the jug for passing teams meals, and giving weather forecasts and route advice.

Must a decent delay in the trackers, Team Rab are already on the beach.
