Well, I am interested in your fellas thoughts.

Great race. Absolutely loved watching it but certainly not the finish everyone was hoping for.

I'm still uncertain of the exact result.

The idea of everyone being on even footing from T6b to the finish just seems crazy to me.

For example....AWS/Mot high were 4.5hr ahead of team 14 (Go Fence) into T6.

Some of you may not have noticed but team 14 (Go fence) waited for team 18 (AWS legal/Mot high) so they crossed the line together.

I feel like this was not only a good gesture but a bit of a statement especially considering that in this team (go fence) has the father of Fynn Mitchell (FY navigator)in it.

There will be plenty that comes out in time I am sure !!

Either way it is awesome to have the godzone back. I hope Ritchie and his crew can keep it going !!!

    Cheers for the chat fellas
    I have loved following it.
It is a epic race !!

Yeah. Not right. It negates the effort put in over the last 5 days. Mot High should have been 4th. No doubt. They were will ahead of Go Fence at CP6 and it looked like BDO Outward Bounders (team 10) who ended up placing 4th, got a lift between CP6 and 6b???

I've hiked/hunted a lot of the areas utilized in the course, it was a pretty extreme route with a tight time frame.
Even with perfect weather I can imagine this would've been super tough to finish.

Man it really showed the tenacity of everyone who took this on

Like you I’ve regularly hunted a lot of the areas covered by this race. It would have been a great effort to complete this route in good weather, let alone the conditions they did encounter. However, I feel the last leg to the finish made a mockery of the efforts of the leading teams up to the final stage. Might be wrong but the finish was a bit of an anticlimax really for me.

A mass restart is good for race support and media
but hard on teams as you get sore once you stop for a few hours
and bad if the results did not take into account the leads each team had coming into the hold TAs.

Race control will learn from this event. Remember it's partially (mostly?) been set and under the control of a different crew than all the previous GZ.
I certainly hope time credits are considered when they hold the post race ceremony.
