Reloading scales are an easy, accurate means of weighing gold. Do it on a big white dinner plate in case you spill some, its a bastard trying to track it down on a wooden coloured table top! Theres 15.43 grains in a gram, 480 grains in a troy ounce, which is slightly more than your normal baking ounce. The gold price on various websites is nearly always in troy ounces. Store it in a small glass bottle rather than plastic cos it tends to stick inside a plastic container. And then keep it safe in your gunsafe cos if you have a house fire, it melts at a far greater temperature than your normal fire and can be recovered with a metal detector afterwards.
