Thread: Issues logging in

Went to check the forum and found I had been logged out which I haven't had happen before. Realized I had used a random password which I couldn't recall. Followed reset instructions and it spiralled from there. Kept being rejected as I had given the incorrect answer to the random question - colour around logo - green the obvious answer but it kept telling me it was incorrect. It ended up accepting it 3 times last night and sent me a reset password link each time which would in theory take me to the forum and then result in being sent a password but those emails never came through. Sometimes when clicking the link from the email it would tell me "The address that you have used to request a new password is not valid. Please request a new password be sent to you by using this form." Seems there's a bug in the matrix. Once the password is reset on the OG account this one can be deleted...

Have emailed you a temporary password for your original account

same issue is happening with my account. Could any Admin help with it? account name: lmlalong.
and please delete this one afterwards.

Ive found I cant log it on work computer as of today not that it bothers me, It just says wrong password and try again in 15min. I can log in on my laptop and phone tho

Had similar problem in the last few days.Some bugs are digging into this forum somewhere??

ive had exactly the same issue, thats why ive had to start from scratch with this account.

Looks like this problem with 'Wrong Password'.... 'Try again in 15 mins' has been going on for months.
I can't log on for hours sometimes, and then it just decides to let me log in for no apparent reason the next day.

I suspect admin already knows this, but I'll repeat it in bold:
It really is a hassle when you have an item up for sale in 'Buy, Sell, Trade' or have started a thread and can't log in to reply to posts.

Yes it's been happening for a while and still happening sometimes for me too. The longest I went was about 3 days of not being able to log in. That starts to break my forum habit and then I wonder if I should bother to keep trying. I don't think we have lost any members over it yet but if the frustration gets too high it's a possibility. Looks like a forum up grade that caused the issues, but with the mods almost completely silent on the matter I assume it's now as good as it's gonna get and there is nothing they can do

it's not something we can do much about until upgraded forum software is completed and ready for use, there has been months of testing to ensure that when transition is scheduled everything works as it should.
Not much has been said as the questions have been asked and answered multiple times by myself and other mods, nothing has changed the answers are still the same.
We are also affected at times and yes it is frustrating, once the new platform is released things will be much better, it's a long overdue upgrade.
I don't have an implementation date but like everyone else I am hoping for sooner rather than later.
I am just a mod so the answers and explanations I can give are limited by my involvement in this process, in reality I am probably already overstepping the mark.

Oh thanks for that Danny. So this is still a work in progress until all the bugs are ironed out and the new system rolled out. So far it seems to be a bit of guesswork about what is going on etc.... I don't want to teach the mods how to suck eggs, but a sticky or notification that changes were being made so except the unexpected, would have maybe alerted everyone to the fact that the system was being changed and might have stopped some of the "what is going on" posts
Especially since most people thought it was their system/computers that were going wrong in lieu of any initial info.

I'll crawl back under my rock now

Quite right, I have sticky'ed this thread.

Rest assured when the new platform is released things will look a little different but usability will be greatly improved and 100% you will notice, it won't be a subtle change.
As previously mentioned I am just a mod I have very little to do with the IT side of things here
