I guess another consideration would be how well the rifle shoots?

A rifle that is not particularly accurate, cut down, to be used as low range bush pig makes more sense than something that could do longer ranges?

I supply and fit a great many suppressors, the most common request is to have the no longer when the suppressor is added so I generally remove about 120mm (the length the suppressor goes forward of the muzzle)

Ive run my Rem 7mm08 at 22inches for the last 10 years odd and only chopped it to 17 inches in the last 2 months with DPT suppressor. Im not convinced theres a lot of gain to be honest,,similar weight, ballance is similar, its 1 inch shorter and a bit quieter for sure, but thats all. Ive decided on the 150 ELDX handloads (althought theyre not the greatest performer) was going 2750@22inches and 2635@17inches. If you havent used it a lot Id hang on till you get familiar with it before chopping, svae yourself $500 odd.

Hi, I have a Tikka T3 7mm08, 19" barrel, Dpt suppressor, I'm happy with that. Was cut down before I bought it, just changed from a Gunworks that it came with to the Dpt I already had as the Dpt is just over an inch shorter, I find it carrys and points nicely, it's fine in the bush down south, my 25" suppressed 280ai isn't much fun in the bush, that's why I bought the 7mm08.
