Solved very easily by epoxing either a carbon arrow shaft, or in the last case piece of carbon golf shaft from dump shop.
I usually key the shaft in with some epoxy putty and then cover the whole lot with some resin.
    Had zero issues since.

Yep. my 243 with laminated stock shoots just fine off the bipod or my hand,
But my lever action with 2part stock I've stopped using the bipod. Now just use my hand over my backpack or rolled up coat or what ever. ( always hold the forend on this rifle )
    Different tensions, twisting etc

The standard ruger american stocks are very soft and flexible in the forend. A flexible forend introduces and amplifies variables in shooter inputs. Likely flexing with the bipod and causing the barrel to make contact with the stock or pinching pressure around the action surface somewhere. Common issue with all the lower cost rifle systems that use similar stocks.

Bipod itself is probably fine, however best to stick to bags to spread the forend load a bit and maintain consistency.

Reminded myself - have even used huge ali knitting needles for the same purpose. Like thicker than a pencil.
Bit of KneadIT to lock the rod into the for-end, then covered with 2part epoxy glue that comes in those combined syringes. Painted with a little black car paint afterwards.
For a beer budget job, it accomplished the task and was still going strong when I sold the rifle - had accounted for hundreds of goats and a load of deer.

This sounds like something I should think about doing, what a good idea using knitting pins

If it’s not the stock, and not bipod bounce (the feet), like already mentioned, another technique you could try is ‘loading the bipod’… it’s a free recoil method you can google it - that’s what they do on nz hunter etc.
Or just learn to shoot of a pack? I went through similar process, went around circles and came back to just that…same principles as using sandbags and you’ll get good enough to have groupings similar to sand bags. Added bonus is you no longer have to lug that thing around on the front of your rifle anymore.

Loading the bipod isn't free recoil my bro. It is the opposite.

It's still not clear what the OP says is the problem. Is it a POI shift or variation in 3-shot group size ?

sorry ... I could have lived with the POI shift and adjusted POA to suit (just as I would expect a different POI without the suppressor) I was more concerned with the wider spread ..

Oh my bad, I thought free recoil was the term for not holding the forend. My point wasz look into loading the bipod - I see others suggest the same

I've hard the exact same experience with one of my rifles. Carbon stock but no barrel channel carbon. Just foam.wouldnt shoot of a bipod no matter what I tried. I ended up sanding a decent amount of foam out and linned the channel with carbon cloth. I also just shoot of the pack these days. I'd say forend stiffness us likley your issue.
Especially considering the bipod will be right up the front and the sandbag is likley near the mag

Yep - that is the fairly common one with bipods. I have several of the HS Precision stocks with the full length bedding block - one of these is a rifle that basically will shoot everything you feed it into a 1.5" group (meaning that you'll get a group of 1.5" or smaller if you do your bit with ammo of the same type - it won't throw everything into 1.5" I'd frame the bugger and hang it behind glass if it did that). I don't mind the HSP handles, but a lot of people actively dislike them. The benefit with them is the absolute rigidity and to a lesser extent the shear heft means that they will perform with virtually any rest that you care to try.

That seems to be the main issue with the tupperware handles, they can perform if you hand hold them and know what you are doing but any time you do something else they can react quite strongly and have poi shifts, group sizes going to the pack, mag and feeding issues or even things like safety catches and bolt handles rubbing on the plastic as the stock moves...
