I’m very excited to see this and hope it can be executed honestly iv moved beyond cherry picked groups and calling outside shots pulled il supply a box and look for a t3 locally to test pretty sure I no of a few
I've got a t3 super light and a Sako 85 .223 here I'm happy to give the challenge a try if I can find ammo.

So the first results are in from some local rifles. I haven't been able to courier away the ammo to upcountry participants yet, but should get to it Thursday or Friday.
Firstly a Browning X-bolt, shot at our local range. It should be noted that due to costs I've reduced the counting group size to ten rounds:
Nothing too shabby about that.
Next is my Howa mini test:
That's Extreme spread 1.27 MOA, so the Browning just pips it by that measure, however using Mean Radius the Howa is 1.18 and the Browning 1.19, nothing in it!
And now a Tikka enters the picture, I just bought this approx 400 round 20" Elite off a forumite.
This T3X doesn't shoot with 73 ELDM's, that's 2.07 MOA. Ouch.
Wow that's a shocker for a Tikka. Only shooting reloads but they are shooting well. 73eldms Tikka elite
It's cool how the X Bolt and Howa wander like that. They still keep tight 3 shot groups and if they aren't all in one spot someone might not notice the POI changing a fair bit
The numbers on the group analysis s are not necessarily shot order, that's just the easiest way of entering the data. More rounds would just fill in and slightly expanded the groups.
One of my interests in this test was to see if there is a common pattern for barrel heating. In the distant past I've had rifles I thought were "heating up" and walking, and often shops will tell people that they need to "keep the barrel cool" to get decent groups. However more recent testing with larger sample sizes has shown me that most barrels don't "walk", they were going to make a 2" or whatever group anyway.
If 10 shots is ok this is a factory new production Remington 700 bedded in a carbon stock, 10rd 73gr ELDM factory match ammo

Well that one is a keeper @gimp. The 20 shot thing was just going to be too tough.
1.05MOA
It is one of the 700s from the new company, I haven't got any experience with the new 700s other than this one. This one does not belong to me, but it is very nice though, the action is smooth and tight and it shoots consistently well with a range of different ammunition. They're too expensive for what they are since you have to replace the trigger and stock.
very interesting data, I would expect the lighter overall weight of standard hunting rifles to have an effect on dispersion.
Am quite keen to test this my Tikka varmint as a comparison.
