What other factory ammo can you get there? The Barnes 95g bullet is shooting for you.
I have used the standard .243 a fair bit on red deer. The 90 grain Ballistic tip is a good bullet, and the old 85 grain Sierra HP driven at 3200fps still does great damage. Biggest stag I ever met dropped like am armful of wet towels to a little .243. His head is on my wall.
I had no idea there was anything to debate about the .243 on deer until the internet came along. I am still waiting to come across that pig that .243 bullets bounce off that Nathan Foster knows about. That's a pig I'd like to meet.
