    For sure, definitely agree on the need to have the base foundation of skills and know how to do things the simple way. Simple navigation skills are a great example. Sorry I didn't mean to come across rude or anything - we are just working within the technological era that we have been born into..

    Nothing wrong at all with still using max point blank range if that's all you need, I was using it on my 243 not long ago as I didn't want a dial up scope on it to just keep it simple. There's just no need to critique those who do the flash modern stuff though just because you don't.

    Micky Duck you're right about the "aim low". It's not really that you are aiming low, its more that you just aren't aiming as high as you would otherwise need to on a lesser angle. Bit of a misconception of words in that old saying.

    A modern 6.5 PRC can still drop up to say 25 inches at 400 yards. They are slick and efficient but beyond 300 most standard cartridges still start dropping very fast.
