Thread: shooting(LR) range/club in waikato area

Get a .303...only rifle that I know of that comes with sights calibrated out to 2200 yards as standard

Spook when I enlisted in 1971 there were only two soldiers at the time that maintained sniper class shooting capabilities. For the both of them the 303 was their preferred rifle.

When my brother was in the army [around the same time as you], he did some 'injury' time in the armoury and they had two .303 sniper rifles, the only sniper rifles NZ Army owned he thinks.

So im thinking .303 or .308 would be a good start then?thanx for the help guys am still new to the "specs" of rifles,i know how to shoot and have been around guns all my life but still clueless to what my first rifle should be,something i could take bush and not completely destroy any deer i may shoot
