    Shooting range

    Hi All,

    I'm from Hamilton,
is there any shooting ranges around that you can take you're .22, and shoot out to 150-200 metres?

    Thanks

"Dreamland" range is the only one that comes to mind.

    Thank's David,

I think I must be dreaming, I'm surprised, their isn't a lot in the way of ranges in the Waikato.

Not in Waikato, but closer than Auckland is Tokoroa Shooting Complex but that caters to clubs, not members of the public rocking up. The sighting in range does 50m, 100, 200m.

The solution is to join a club that shoots there ? One is silhouettes, shot there in air rifle, rimfire (out to 100m) and centrefire (fixed at 200m). There's a shoot this weekend 28 Feb and then once a month. But the range is busy most weekends with other clubs shooting.

You don't have to join a club you can just join the Complex, fee is $45 plus $10.00 for a key shoot any time, most weekends the sight in range is available, except third weekend of the month when the silhouette ranges are in use,
I think there is a one off joining fee, give Sandi Curreen a ring 07 883 7802 evenings, PM me if you want to go on a week day I can probably find time there is a $10.00 a day fee for non members it pays to bring your own targets and holders
the club rooms have microwaves stoves and a a couple of jugs. Robert.

What distance does the range go out too? 200m as said above?
Once you have a key are you able to shoot week days as you wish?
    Where in Tokoroa is it?

The sighting in ranges are 50 100 and 200 metres, the complex is available seven day a week when you have a key it's only closed for major competitions or if the complex is booked out which is not often

Down at the Tokoroa shooting complex this morning - it's only 2 minutes drive from my house. Very calm, overcast, nobody there, great shooting conditions.

Be aware that the .22 sighting in target frame is set at 50 yards not metres. The 100 and 200 sighting in target frames are set at metres.

Danny NZDA join and Rotorua is free other than the key fee.
I need to be through in the next month or so to pick up some hand loads. Will give you a buzz if you need range time. Probably Saturday or if lucky will tie it in with work :-)
