    Swaro Z8i 3.5-28x50

    Hey Legends
Looking at getting either a 7PRC or a 300WSM and have a z8i i would love to pair it up with. Although it’s a beautiful scope it seems to be lacking in dial up capability with only 80 clicks. Don’t often shoot out past 500m but it would be nice to have the option to stretch out further, especially for alpine hunting. I do also like to shoot targets out to 800m which seems like this would be incapable of. Would be zeroed at 200m.
Interested to hear from anyone using one of these or similar scopes and what the max ranges you’re getting out of your magnum calibres. If all else fails i will sell it and revert to form and get another nightforce
    Cheers Team

Cheers mate. It’s on some high rings already so fingers crossed they will be sufficient

80 clx = 20 moa, that will get you to 800 yds and then some. Assuming you’re running 7PRC or other 7mm magnum with decent high bc pills

I use a Z8 same scope as you have and yes they have a limited range of elevation.
Once zeroed at 100 just check how much up you have compared to down.
If yours is like mine I only had 40 clicks up around 100 down, so the only way to get back some of those clicks as elevation is to use 20moa rail or rings.
What rifle and rings is it on now.

They are the best scope I've used.

Sweet as im going to set it up and see how it goes. I only seem to have 80 clicks in total (1 full rotation). It’s not on a rifle yet but most likely will be going on a 7PRC. Came with rings so ideally i’d use those but if not then 20moa rings it will be. Yeah they are epic scopes and got it for a good pricd so really keen to make it work
Whats the max elevation you’re getting with your setup if you don’t mind me asking?

I get 60 clicks up once zeroed and have use a coke can shim in the rear ring to give me that bit.
Because mine is on a Sako and optilock rings unless I fit a rail I can't get the extra elevation.
Each click is 10mm or 1/10 of a mil rad so it depends how many clicks you use to zero the scope, you will never zero it and have a full revolution left.
