A few years ago at my usual range, before new owners took over, it wasn't unusual to have a series of ( casual ? ) hunters arrive around this time of year, wanting to sight in a rifle before getting into the hills. If I was shooting I always moved aside and let them set about their task, often while keenly following the progress. With some the standard of ahooting was absolutely hopeless. Struggling to get shots on target at 50 yards ! A rare few needed to be gently shown the proper way to mount and hold a rifle. I just hoped these guys never found a deer to take shots at.
