Ive got one from the same batch, The last order of 2200 rifles in .577 for new Zealand , most were returned to the armoury in England about 1890, These were originaly manufactured as breech loading sniders, not converted from muzzle loading muskets and they have the improved breech lock and a steel barrel,(as long as all numbers match.)
I shoot mine regularly and they are great fun. my wife loves to shoot it too so dont be put off by the myth they kick like a mule.
I load 75grains FFG with a 490grain hb bullet. 1 felt and 1 card wad and the bullet base filled with lube,
