    Hello from British Columbia

Longtime lurker here, but landed a job in Antarctica that has me in and out of NZ twice a year. keen to see some more of your wonderful country and maybe get in a little bit of hunting and fishing

Through work (Hunting guide and heli pilot) I've spent a lot of time around Kiwis. You all talk funny, but I'm fond of the humor and work ethic.

Headed to Franz for a hunt in April, looking forward to it.

    Welcome,

    What part of BC?
My wife and I knocked around Port McNeil and Stewart for 12 months when we lived there. Did another 18 months based out of Alberta after that.
    We really enjoyed Canada.

North Okanagan for the last 15yrs, but bounced around before that to all points for work. Used to do a lot of Freedive Spearfishing out of Port McNeil and Telegraph Cove. Would love to move up-island, but the missus isn't keen on all the rain.

In the process of moving to Alberta. While I love the "political" climate in Alberta, and the low taxes, I think i'm going to miss the mountains.

I did a lot of EM survey, some round your neck of the woods.
Merrit, Kelowna, Nelson Castlegar and Blue River off the top of my head. If I had my time over again we would have based out of the Okanagan somewhere or other.

    Towing bird? Prism?

Okanagan has gone through massive changes the last 10-15yrs. Population and cost of living has doubled , as has crime, homelessness, drugs.... It's still beautiful, but the summers are just too much of a goat rodeo. Backcountry is packed now. Often thought I'd retire there, now looking at other places/countries.

That’s a real shame to hear that.
I worked for Prism when we lived in BC. All my bird towing was when we were in Alberta, got all round western Canada doing that which was great. Even made the arctic circle in Nunavut for one job.

Unless she is going to live in Henderson - why would your wife want to grow a mullet?
