    Hello

    Afternoon all

    Been using this forum for info for a while and thought I should introduce myself.

    Steve from whangarei here, when I was a bit younger i had the opportunity to chase my old man around the kaimanawas and kawekas flying in with air charter taupo for a few years
    Just starting to get back into hunting on a budget.... if that's possible.

    Welcome aboard. In the beginning man did not really need a budget to hunt. He merely needed to find an appropriately shaped rock and chip it away to a point and then attach it to a stick to have a spear. Sadly through the elapse of time across millennia, we have arrived at today where ………. Oh fuck I spend a lot of money on my firearms sporting interests. Ha ha ha ha

    It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
    What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
    Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
    Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
    Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
    Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
    Rule 5: Check your firing zone
    Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
    Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms

    Currently my biggest problem is feeding the hilux and getting time off work. Opportunities for hunting sika in whangarei arnt the best

    True but then again it doesn’t take much effort to get a feed of scallops in Urquharts Bay

    Cant comment of the crays, be run over by how many bloody boats coming out of one tree point marina. I sit out off the smugglers bay before dawn alot... its busy out there year round...

    Scollop bed is down to 10% they reckon. So no whangarei harbour scollops for us
