Red face Hi from a fresh Kiwi

I would like to say hi to all other member out there. I have been registered for a few months now, and really enjoy reading your posts and conversations.
I am a almost a Kiwi - would be eligible for citizenship in mid 2016. I did all my hunting in South Africa and Namibia, mainly in plains country. Here it seem that I will have to get fit or rent a helicopter to cope with the mountainous areas where hunting take place. Any suggestions or advice???
I love shooting and hunting and has been reloading for my rifles (30-06, .303, .243 & .223) for about 20 years now. To be honest, I don't know what I enjoy the most, whether it is the reloading, the range testing, the target shooting or the occasional hunting trip. Having said that, I have not had my rifles for 3 years now - got them from South Africa in November 2014, and am now itching to start reloading and range testing them.

    Welcome.
Deer and pigs/goats can be found very close to roads all over the country, tho they are usually very well educated on humans and how to avoid them.
Get out there and get looking

Hi Mucko, I am based in Whangarei.
Also to all others welcoming me - thank you - my family and myself like NZ very much. Although our blood is still tinted green, we are proudly supporting the AB's as well.
Hope to at least go on a pig hunt this winter - just have to find a shooting range to test whether my rifles are still shooting straight.

    First off, welcome!
Secondly, I'm in Namibia currently. Just crossed the border from SA last night.
I would love to hear more about your hunting adventures over here!

Hi Keegan, wish I was there! Which parts of Namibia will you be visiting? Namibia bring back lots of good memories of hunting, fishing and friendly people.
I was born in Walvis Bay, Namibia and went on hunting trips with my dad and granddad to my uncle's farm in the Kohmas Hochland (about halfway to Windhoek) from a young age. I did not shoot in those days though. Later, when I started hunting as well, my granddad bought a 2000 hectare hunting farm in the Outjo district, where I did all my hunting in Namibia.
    Enjoy your trip in paradise.

    I'm currently in Swakopmund!
Just got back a couple of days ago from Stellabosch in SA.
I haven't been to Walvis Bay yet even though it's just down the road.

I have mostly just been to Windhoek and about 60km out to friends farms, but in the next week I plan to go to the Caprivi and Vic falls!

I have to ask, how much are you missing the game steak? Haha
    Cheers

    Keegan

If an unfit truckie like myself can drag spare tyre/beer belly around anyone can...the hills aren't that bad just take plenty of rest/looking around stops. more animals around than at any time in my lifetime get out and get yourself some Oryx

Haha, yes my spare tyre looks more like a flat tyre nowadays! Think we just give to frequent stops up as tactical to scan the area.
