    Hi from a visiting Aussie

    Hi guys,

Well first off I’m an Australian and in around a week I will be on holidays in your part of the world. I thought I should try and get some suggestions or ideas on where I may be able to get a shoot in.

I’m hoping a couple of you South Island guys and girls can steer me into the right direction as at this point that where we are spending our time.

I am more interested in target shooting but would not pass up a chance to go hunting. I would love to have a chance of trying a 3 gun competition or any event that would allow me to shoot any toys I am not allowed to play with back home (semi auto, suppressed even airsoft, you know what I can’t have).

I have been an active sports shooter in Australia for the past 10 years; I am licenses in for pistols, rifles and shotguns provided that there not self loading.

When I’m in New Zealand I am expecting to get a visitors license, just incase I need to do some shopping.

I am interested in hearing anyone’s suggestion or help anyone is able to offer.

    Thanks

    Paul

Welcome to the forum Paul. I am sure that there will be someone here that can help you with what you are after.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms

    Hi guy,

    Thanks for the warm welcome.

A little more about me, I am not a cowboy action shooter, though I am willing to give it a go.

I shoot ISSF and a little service with the pistols most weeks, skeet and trap occasionally with the shotguns and manly hunt with the rifles.

    Regards

    Paul

have you got your NZ firearms license sorted? If not I'd be calling NZ police pretty quick. It's simple and only costs $25 but you need to sort it out before you're there.
