    You need to protect the wiring around the battery connect from pesky possums - I also made little ply box which I srew to tree up close to to cam so lessn wire that can be played with

    I checked one of my cameras this morning. A typical Rimutaka's public land stag, not a monster but could be alright in a couple more years.

    Yeah it is nicely even, I shot one identical in antler shape in the exact same area nearly 20 years ago now. It looks like a young animal.

    Another pic from my secret spot in the Rimutakas, I have been hunting here since I was about 16, its my go to area for an easy day hunt to fill the freezer. Still looking good after all these years.

    Yeah it is browsed down but has always been a fairly open creek bed anyway. Yep they are big bodied buggers in the Rimutaka's, massive difference if you compare them to South Tararua reds for example.
