    Any good restaurants in Christchurch?

I mean ones that don't serve 'truffles' or a teaseful of the main that fits into a tablespoon! Looking at online reviews, a few customers were not happy with 'luke warm veni' or the portion size though i realise those posh type ones serve in trendy amounts that make me think of Karen Carpenter... Doesn't have to be veni either. Anyway..there has been quite a few of new places start up recently and the many good reviews do out weigh the bad ones but. Looking at about 10-12 people. Any recommendations out there? Seafood options good too.

    Wee man.....
Brazillian bbq in Papanui one of the few places I've been back to more than once.
Fantastic food really great atmosphere and something different.
Basically all you can eat the waiters/waitresess bring around bbq meats served on swords and sides and you take your pick everything from bbq chicken hearts (trust me they are good) to spare ribs.....don't fill up too much cause the desserts are fantastic too.
Bookings are essential it gets real busy.
You'll thank me I'm sure. Came highly recommended by the Brazillian techs at work.

Plus 1. I went there some three years ago. Didn't have to eat breakfast or lunch the next day And man, it tasted good.

El Quincho is another good South American themed restaurant, if you like meat, you'll love El Quincho, gets the tick of approval from the critic in our household

we nearly ALWAYS make the effort to visit spitfire burgerfuel......because they do a very good burger, the best of any we have tried around the country...and believe me ,we have tried a few.....wifey being celiac/GF it is a good safe option for us....never actually tried a sit down meal there, have only done that in invercargil cause got a BEER with burger.... normally its grab and run to where ever we are headed.
Im a fairly big eater...a bastard burger with egg....wee pottle of fries and a thick shake is ALL I can fit in.....and its a struggle to get he last bit in.
I dont care that it costs a bit....for the few times we eat out...its worth it to know its going to be good and safe for Mrs.

I can vouch for this one. Especially if you like meat. One of the few places I've walked away from totally satisfied.

most will nuke your sreak, or put vege/salad in your food when asked not to.
if you Like Indian " pocketful of spices" in rolleston or rangiora, for authentic asian try orange house near bush inn.

The Little Haveli in Woodend is a nice indian resturant. Been there a few times. If unsure, they also do takeaway from the same menu so you can try the Takeaway yourself then head in for a bigger meal if you like it. They will tone the spice to your requirements...If you are sober and sane then you can have it so you can stil taste the flavours, and if you feel like a few brews under the belt you can ask for Indian hot which will remind you what your arse is supposed to be used for.......

I did quite like the food in the sports bar (Monza ) at the Casino, and really enjoyed Lone star last time we had that.
