Taking meat from nz to germany

Ive got family in germany asking for some venison.

I値l be heading over in august so am planning to take some over.
My flight is quite direct so i値l be in transit for 28hours.
Has anyone done it before, if so what do i need to know?
    Struggling to find good info.

    Cheers

    Talk to customs first

Not sure of the novelty though, they have had our venison there for probably 60 years

Turns out it’s a hard no.
They were keen on some wild stuff.

My Mrs has done it three times. No drama if you are a German citizen, their laws allow food in from all around Europe / EU so they have every disease etc already.
Frozen down to minus 22, then wrapped with news paper & reflective bubble wrap and into a polybox. Have sent quartered Hares, Trout, Venny.
Have a simulated practice at home now to get it all perfected

Majority of our wild stuff goes to Germany. Station I used to hunt on would get chopper each year. All that would go to Germany.

Used to be if it was processed and inspected through an export certified plant you could get the documentation needed done easily enough, I have no idea if that has changed now.
Home kill was firm no then I doubt if that's changedistinct.

Properly vacuum packed back steaks and frozen well ahead of departure , well insulated in the middle of bubble wrap and warm clothings will travel without too much issues. The only problem is if your luggage stays on the tarmac in Dubai or a similar hot country for 28 hrs…
