.22 Delisle Carbine Build (Pic heavy)

If you look at this 1st pic and think to yourself..... clean work, clever idea- continue to scroll down and see more about it

    However

If you look and your brain cry's BLASPHEMY!!! then you might want to leave now, alternatively if you wish leave your rage filled comments in the comments section...... I always enjoy a colourful read!

I know the Delise carbine was chambered in .45..... But when Delisle first presented his concept it was in .22, But the powers that be didn't believe the .22 to have "enough bang for its buck"
So Delisle went away and rebuilt it in .45.... which made sense as this was a caliber the army was already using.

I do not press my own ammo so I like cheap shooters thats the other reason i made this in .22 - Im not trying to anger up the purists out there, I love the Delisle carbine and this is mine!

    My .22 Delisle Carbine:

    OK...... notice anything?.....

Its not based on an Enfield........

    It started out like this:

Pretty average- so I went to work:

Now lets sort that stock out:

    Fabricate and mount the sights:

Now for the finished piece, I still want to put some little details in it like my own manufacturing stamp.... maybe sling hooks little things like that:

Correct!, and a ported barrel- some even had steel wool in the blast/ expansion chamber...... they were also built on the Enfield action

.22 or .45 that carbine is pretty sweet, I'm looking forward to some video of it being fired.

what are the baffles made from, years back i silenced a marlin camp carbine and used a material called nylatron which was a graphite impregnated polymer normally used for underwater bearings. it lathes and mills beautifully and has no resonance like metal
