Just re shaped the island around the lock and made a template of it with the lock screw locations as a reference



Transferred it to the other side



And shaped it to the lines
Now both the sides are practically identical



So now I have stripped some of the brass parts and started working off the tool marks
A couple more little jobs to do and then it's on to finishing the stock and Browning the barrel, lock and trigger plate

Last push now
Very happy with the colour and feature on the stock
Exactly what I wanted it to look like

All the metal parts are being browned now and will take a day or two to finish
Gives me time to get another dozen coats of schaftol on the stock
This is the fun bit after a lot of very tricky bits
