Another shorty JW15, but with a twist

I just love me a take down rifle, and I love JW's.

Years ago I saw photos of a kiwi designed collapsible stock for the JW15 that conceals the trigger when collapsed allowing it to be under 762mm as the rifle is inoperable. I wanted one back then but didn't have the cash, or a spare JW but recently had both on hand so I got hold of the designer and asked him to print one off for me. It arrived a few days ago so I took one of my spare JW shorty's out of its stock and dropped it in, measured when extended it is bang on 762 so I might have to add a thin rubber buttpad so there are no awkward moments if the police ruler is slightly under measuring compared to my one. When collapsed and the suppressor is removed it is just shy of 500mm so fits inside a back pack pretty easy. The stock collapses by pulling out a pin, then the action and trigger all slide back inside the stock and the pin is replaced to hold it all in place.

To finish it all off I built up another carbon fiber suppressor today to fit over the barrel perfectly, but I will post more about that another time.

Nice setup. Did you make all the stock yourself?

Yeah just thinking that the idea could be used for anything, funny its on a jw 15 (not knocking them) would have thought there was other platforms to get a larger chunk of the market

I say COPY and not CLONE because they're different enough that parts aren't interchangable... so...
452, not 527 as thats a centrefire rifle (which i have one of too!)

I think JW15 is a copy of ZKM451 or Brno Model 1, as it has the older type safety, magazines & some times bolts fit, not sure on stocks ?

I think the JW is sort of a simplified model 2 but with a square ejection port the model ones were a bit different proportion wise but share the square ejection port
Brno mags make JWs feel like far far nicer rifles

I was thinking he was probably making the first one for an action he had on hand, perhaps a JW with no stock or a damaged stock...? I think there is quite a bit of work involved in the set up for the design side of the printing.....so that may be why he has not pursued it. I am guessing here.

Took it down to the range today for a quick test, it performed perfectly with no loss of accuracy at all. Took a short video for you guys.
