Thought I'd have a go at designing a chassis for the Howa mini. Used engineering grade resin for the main bits, aluminum pillar bedded, and carbon fiber struts for the butt, inspired by the paratrooper stock for the AKS-74U (Krinkov). Got the weight down to around 500 grams, about half the weight of the factory stock. Made it in three modular parts, mainly to fit in the printer, but also so the fore-end can enclose the barrel (you slide it down the barrel to attach it to the main part). My boss has said he has some aluminum billets we can use, so the next step will be making an machined aluminum skeleton for action with polymer everywhere else like an Accuracy International chassis. Hopefully Remington 700 will be the next guinea pig.
