    P14/17 floorplate release

seeing i have a couple of these, im wondering if there is a relatively simple mod to make the floorplates release without the point of the bullet.
I have Roy Dunlap's book and it has some instructions but I'm just not picking up what he is putting down. No drawings.
Not quite the same as a Mauser with the round button, more like a tab.

My P14 floor plate kept popping open, so I simply hold it closed with a woodscrew into the stock.
Don't call me a cheap mindless thug, that hurts.
Also got a Tikka T3 that suffers from the usual now you see me now you don't magazine. I double secure it with Duct tap, I'm not a moron a woodscrew would be silly.

@c-dog I'm not sure I like the big exposed button.
More thinking a smaller stud but that idea may not work with your method.
    Some thinking to do.
    Have a few to do

Hey mate, it wasn't my idea or work, but just a comparison of a rifle and action I have on hand, I can imagine other options would be possible, could dome the head to reduce profile, or make a slotted hole and have it slide, maybe best to replicate a test option on some scrap beforehand ?

Hey all good. Wasn't trying to throw shade on you at all. I appreciate you taking the Pic and posting it in the first place.
I thought in the back blocks of my twisted mind I did read somewhere on the web about a catch but just can't drag it back
