    Shooting sticks

I've made a couple iterations of these in the past using walking poles, but after losing the last one, I had been making do without. I have however still been finding it hard to get a suitable rest when hunting in tall tussock, especially if only carrying my daypack. Anyway, an old camera tripod was taking up space and I got to thinking the legs would be ideal for a collapsible bipod style rest. Bit of mahogany on the CNC and it was ready to roll. Weighs about 650gr, and extends to about 1.2m - hopefully does the trick.

Nice, but I'd consider 650g heavy for shooting sticks.

Yes you are correct! I'm still young and foolish enough to carry too much weight. I think version 3 might need to feature some carbon fiber...

Tried this out a couple days ago - worked great. Knocked over a couple deer and some rocks at distance. Think next version could definitely be a bit lighter, and maybe mount to front sling swivel.

See attached. I made a set years ago. Carbon arrows work well. But instead of castration rings I use this knot.
