Thread: Cartridge ID help - IVI 95

Hi,

I have a cartridge I've just acquired that I can't identify and I'm hoping another collector could assist me please.

Headstamp IVI 95 (I know it's a Industries Valcartier Inc. / SNC-Lavalin (SNC Tec) - formerly Saint-Gabriel-de-Valcartier round), but I'm not sure what it is exactly. Does the '95' refer to year of manufacture? The fluting on the case could indicate that it is a training round?

Approximate calibre (case dimension) is 19x100mm / .75 cal

Just looking at the ruler and the projectile that ain't 75 cal.

I remember playing with the 7.62 and 5.56 versions when first learning how to use GPMG's and C9's on Basic. We had 20 round linked belts for doing loading drills

Dunno how I came up with .75 cal (I thought that the second measurement in mm was the diameter of the base of the case (19mm = 0.75"). Errrm, more research on my part required obviously).
Laid it next to my .50 BMG and cases are the same; thanks for the intel - especially muzza!
