    i would like to know more about how that happened VC. Any mention of the shooting at Flaxmere a couple of days back.
    It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
    What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
    Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
    Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
    Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
    Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
    Rule 5: Check your firing zone
    Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
    Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms

    Yea I hope he recovers fully.

    Would like to know more about the fault with the firearm.

    Generally when things go bad its a blocked bore or wrong ammo.?

    35 Desoto I think it is lives there (ararimu) we used to 20 odd years ago so an info I may have is a little dated, although I think I recognise the house.

    my first thoughts.......wrong ammo or bad reloads would be interesting to find out the whole story

    I used to live in Ararimu and know a few who still do. I dont know the family but apparently he is ok and it's not as bad as first thought or what the media has made it out to be. I have no info on what actually happened but wish him a speedy recovery and my thoughts are with the family.

    Good glad he’s ok. Hate for him to have lost an eye or worse.
    Could have been a blocked barrel as I see fresh earthworks around the house in the stuff pic.
    Could also have been one of those .17hmr they have a habit of doing this kind of thing.

    I had a cousin seriously injured by a shotgun blowing up at the chamber and damaging his wrist.
    Cheap spanish single barrel 12 gauge.
    The chamber was off center in the barrel by a long way and it blew out the bottom
