    Not true, whilst it is preferred to be in the house, it's not required as long as the detached building is secure eg. Windows barred, solid door and it is in good condition.

    I had mine secured exactly the same as the OP, passed the inspection with no dramas. Don't see why you'd have any trouble with yours.
