E-cat gun safe. Will it pass inspection????

Hi all, im looking at apply for B and E cat endorsements. I've installed this certified E cat safe and wonder if whether anyone knows the regs for installation? I can't find them.

The garage has a one window and a door, and is the only room I can put it in. The safe is out of sight from the window but is visible from the back door.... so I covered it up.

    2 x 12mm x 75mm runs bolts in base, with 2 x M10 coach screws through the back into a stud.

    What do you think?

Yep that should bolt in (excuse the pun).

If its in a detached garage you will be told it has to be in the house before they will pass it

In our old house, my b and e sage was in a detached shed. I had also beefed up the doors and bars (pipe) on the one window. Past without comment, and reinspection was never a issue.
Please excuse spelling, as finger speed is sometimes behind brain spped........ Or maybe the other wayy.....

Why not show the photos to your arms officer or whoever does the licensing in your area and ask them?

They will be the one saying yes or no. Not the online peanut gallery here.

Not true, whilst it is preferred to be in the house, it's not required as long as the detached building is secure eg. Windows barred, solid door and it is in good condition.

I had mine secured exactly the same as the OP, passed the inspection with no dramas. Don't see why you'd have any trouble with yours.

Surely if the detached building is alarmed and monitored along with the required level of security (barred windows, grilled door) and appropriate safe is fixed properly, the inspector should find it acceptable? I will be facing a similar situation in a couple of months too.

Fucked if I know, go ask the cops.
I assume they are generally not as secure as a house and away from main living quarters?
I had to shift mine inside and my garage is a lot harder to get into than my house.

It can come down to how you "sell" the idea to the ao, it has been suggested that barring windows etc advertises the fact that items of interest are inside and potentially encourages attention. The construction and attachment of the safe are of greater importance.

    This.
They should be appreciative of not having to come back twice.

I have mine in a detached garage with unbarred windows, no alarm and a couple of added on bolt locks with standard padlocks. Safe is bolted with 4x 12mm dynabolts to the concrete and 4x 12mm coach screws into the wall with a board over the studs between it and the safe. Inspector had no issue with it and I've now since added a security camera. Whilst I understand that won't prevent the crime, it may help solve it after the fact.

So no, detached garages are not a no go full stop, and no bars over your windows are not a requirement. But if you can do it and afford it, why not?

Just because something has passed inspection, doesn't mean you shouldn't add more to your security.
