Securely Screwed to a stud near the Ammo safe, not hidden at all. The Ammo safe key is in it and it was satisfactory for the vetting person.

You might be able to rip it off the wall eventually but from personal experience, you wont get in it easily without a lot of effort and tools. If you have tools then why bother even trying just use the angle grinder on the safe.
After all the key is under lock (combination). Saves fannying about retrieving a hidden key from somewhere else thats not where you have your other keys etc etc.

No different to having them stored in secure lockup facility....you don't live there.

Everyone here wants to meet their obligations as a licence holder. But when people need black and white guidance on every last possible life scenario the legislation only becomes more and more onerous. Which further increases unintended outcomes and complexity resulting in reduced compliance and increased cost.

might be legal but easily opened with a shim, when my house was being built i needed to turn the builders power on to do some work on the placed myself. one piece of coke can and under 5 minutes to get in.

I am absolutely not doubting what you were told - HOWEVER - not in legislation or regulations that I can find - I am finding to many people in officialdom like to "quote" the law that only exists in their minds.

IF this was the case - it would be totally impracticable for many - overseas couple of times a year, month at a time - think of some FIFO workers - Anyways no FAL I know would want to uplift my toys.

Your security is either compliant, or it is not.

Fair to say - my security is many steps up on the requirements.

Same, the vettor had no problem with them, different combination on each one and 4 tek screws each.

Just to clarify, are the vettors asking to see where your safe keys are stored??

I wasn't and don't think you should show them. He seemed happy that I went off to retrieve them from the secret hidden place. Bit of a circus really.

No,and I would hesitate to tell them.

I had 8x12mm -90mm long dyna bolts holding safe to concrete wall and floor.Vetter thort that safes not coming off the wall in a hurry.

Can’t wait to go through this charade in a few months time. Just starting the paperwork

I'd like to see appropriate punishment dished out to thieves, ie forty lashes. Then law abiding citizens perhaps wouldn't have to go to such extremes to keep their stuff safe.
