I knew someone with a Remington that did exactly that - didn't matter how many rounds you loaded it always jammed after the 2nd round

Gun City managing director David Tipple said most of the weapons were shotguns for duck shooting or hitting clay targets.

He presumed the owner of the guns had other family members and friends who were hunters, as it seemed like a lot of guns for one person.

It also says 5000 rounds of shotgun ammo was stolen - the getaway vehicle would have had saggy suspension afterwards!

Somebody said they hated the use of that word recently in another thread - I can see why now. Saying 'Weapon' instead of firearm / rifle / shotgun etc instantly invokes the idea of 'gun nut' into the equation.

As for me - calling them weapons is a bad habit left over from my time in the grunts. They were weapons and everything we did revolved around keeping them in working order and within 3m of us at all times. I hated those rust farms by the end to be honest. I never want to see another steyr aug / minimi / mag58 ever again haha

It's also Friday 13th. If I remember correctly there is at least 1 x Friday 13th per year and a possible maximum of 3.

it would be good to get a rough idea of the security he had and how it was beaten, so other gun owners might realise if there security is at risk. but obviously you wouldn't want to say how to break into something. just roughly.

The word I've heard is that it was an approved strong room within the house.

if hes classed as a collector you would think he would have had better security than most. maybe they brought there own tools, came prepaired? its always a worry that they can use your tools.

The owner also had other stuff stolen at the time, jewelry, tv, etc.

That's at least twice I can remember Gun City being in the news piping up about something, I wonder why it's them and not someone else, surely they could find someone else to ask?

When someone who knows nothing about anything (aka a reporter) wants to ask someone a stupid question about guns, they probably think of the last gun shop they saw an advertisment for.

Ruthless. I reckon if you have gone to the trouble of installing a safe room in a house then a few IP cameras wouldn't go a miss. Then we could get some pictures and see what these guys look like.

After reading the post preceding yours, I suspect the cameras and the hard drive unit would have been taken as well............so not much of an advantage :>)
