    Firearms register - activating circumstance?

Is taking a rifle to gunsmith to fit suppressor an ‘activating circumstance’ to require me to register all my firearms?
What if an out-of-town mate (also with FAL) passes me his rifle temporarily to take into gunsmith, do either or both of us need to register?

Yes, I bought a rifle from a forum member a few weeks ago. The .22 was on the register.....I've since registered it and my other bang sticks and at no time was I required to input the sellers details.

I was expecting a red flag to pop up indicating that the .22 was currently registered elsewhere....but no.

I think for a firearm that is already in the register the seller is supposed to contact the FSA first with the firearm and purchasers details. The transaction is then pending until the purchaser confirms the purchase. The firearm is then transfered within the register.

I was meaning if I'm on the Register and I get given/or buy an Un-Registered Firearm Do I have To Reveal The Identity Of That Person. This situation is presenting itself but I really don't want the FSA kicking off saying you are outside the 30 Days. If they are going to go spastic on me I won't bother.

I've had the same and registered them online without an issue. There was no questions asked inspite of being over a year since I initially registered my original firearms.

I BELIEVE the intention is to allow "grey area guns" to come in from the cold and be registered without issues.if Joe isn't registered now and gives/sells me all his guns I registered them as mine and he has nothing to register so activation is moot point.where the guns came from is moot point.

But isn't selling a firearm a registering event?
The seller or person that gives you the firearms would just go online and say they have no firearms or items.

Did you ring them up to do a transfer? If not, their system is so retarded that you've now created a duplicate record of the firearm that is assigned to you, and the original will forever be stuck with the seller. They will point blank refuse to remove it from the seller's profile, even though he doesn't own it anymore. Don't ask how I know.

When I attempted to register online a firearm which was on the register didn't happen till the seller did the transfer.

They must have plugged that hole in their system since I got stitched up with it.

did a firearm sale the other day you are correct if I ring a transfer is pending the buyer rings and transfer is complete - is of my register- the nice young bloke explained if the buyer just registers the rifle it is then in both our registers i.e two owners but only one with possession - so begs the question if they then search a serial number they get two names - that does not appear to be a robust system - I now wonder how many times that has occurred
