Firearms Security Submission

Guys, FOUNZ has put together an easy submission system for you to make a submission regarding proposed changes to firearm security. You can make a submission with a couple of mouse clicks, but I would encourage you to personalize your submission, even just a little.

Founz website

THE FOUNZ, SUPER SIMPLE, POLICE SECURITY POLICY SUBMISSION! – FIREARM OWNERS UNITED NZ

Submission Link

https://tinyurl.com/ya9mcnde

Follow that for an easy click click submission

Submission text provided below if you have a problem with the link

EMAILStuart.Nash@parliament.govt.nz
cc secure-storage-firearms@police.govt.nz, info@founz.co.nz

SUBJECT Police Firearm Security Policy Submission

Dear Stuart,

I have identified these issues with the police's request for submissions and the actual police policy

itself.

1) They have effectively given licence holders 1 week to make a submission.

2) Police are attempting to reclassify A Cat semi Automatics into their own security requirements.

3) Police will force you to agree to the requirements of their policy (and possibly all future illegal and

ultra vires policies) by signing a contract.

4) Police have mixed policy with law giving the impression to licence holders that this document is the

law. Policy and legal requirement should be separated clearly and concisely to avoid confusion.

5) These policies directly affect those who do not own their own home by forcing onerous security

requirements that may not be possible for those renting a house.

6) A situation now exists where police believe they have authority to implement their policy as law which

they do not.

I fear police will attempt to codify all policies such as the Pol67N and S43A mail order into law without

following the correct parliamentary process. I object to police making law.

Police are acting outside of their authority and attempting to circumvent due process.

Kind Regards

FOUNZ member.

Submission made with the following preface:

Hi Stuart,

Below is a generic email, which you have probably received multiple times....and rightly so: another example of Police misbehaviour is occurring...under your watch (now).

Note - this has not been forwarded to the Police, as they DO NOT MAKE THE LAW as is made clear below... and has already been discussed!!

Please take this seriously - licensed FAL holders are not the problem, yet Chris Cahill (irrespective of what you may think if him - he is a proven liar), continues to vilify some of the most vetted people in society.

Please do not let Police "policy" usurp Government's powers - Police are there to enforce the law - not create it...they do not even have the power to create common law (which in itself needs attention given some of the poor sentences handed down to VIOLENT offenders....)

I don't feel like I speak for myself when I say that licensed FAL owners are sick of being vilified in the media, please correct me if I'm wrong: no other "hobby/sport" group is sibjected to the same persecution (scrutiny would ordinarily suffice - but look at Cahill et-al's comments...)!! Please put your personal feelings aside for the Police Union - they are more myopic than Mr Key was in the Sky City fiasco - Cahill has eroded any good faith the Police Union had in his constant and one-eyed approach....

Please feel free to contact me if any of this needs further clarification.

Regards,

NZ is free-er than most other countries @Paddy79 - But that's not to say our govt, MSM & police aren't behaving like a wolf in sheep's clothing, they certainly are.

As for this BS "contract" and storage recommendation all of us need to as a collective push back because in the end if we don't and we do "compromise" a little with them they will take it all. After that NZ will be more aligned with Britain & Australian gun laws.

If we take all of the unlawful policy crap and inconsistent administration throughout the country + all of the countless rules & regulations that are nothing more then "hurdles" and an inconvenience to FAL holders, we are undoubtedly steering towards something pretty bad.

We don't want to end up like this guy do we??

There is no deadline on making a submission to a politician. Why would anyone want to argue with police when the law is quite clear as to your storage obligations? The police have merely notified us of their intent to further illegal restrictions on licence holders though policy. Also known as "making shit up".
The only restrictions that you need worry about are those proposed by parliament.
You would have more effect by taking some time to visit your local MP to talk about your concerns about out of control police policy and police contempt for parliament, as well as writing to politicians to express your concerns.
Politicians make our firearms laws, not police. We have just had an election, so if there are changes coming, then they must be what we wanted and most certainly deserve.
