I have no idea but perhaps because the people that script and pass legislation are just as fallible as the rest of mankind. I for one have yet to meet the perfect human.

There are good points here from both views when we stay on track. I guess another angle I'm looking at it from is I want to keep my fal and it may not be my actions that causes me to loose it, If a fal holder fuks up bad enough there will be consequences for all of us as we have seen. There are people out there who would love nothing more than to see us all have our licenses and firearms taken away for good we all know that. In my opinion if we let people with proven voilent and disregard for the law and other peoples rights tendency's its only going to be a matter of time before something snaps and the inevitable happens. Not saying there is but its not totally out of the question that plans could already be it the pipeline, as we have all seen before, it may not even be a voilent offence it could be a straw buyer scenario that we hear about and the media will be having a field day with it and its not going to be one person comitting the crime, it will be spun that its all fal holders. When It comes to firearms Im going to err on the side of caution....

Here's a thought exercise. Think of it like the trolley problem.

Who here would be ready to give up their firearms license if that's what had to happen for this guy not to have his?

I didn't do what he did, so why would me giving up my licence have any bearing on what happens with his licence?

I mean if you are saying that there was a magical swappsies of licences where you could provide your untainted one for his tainted one, then yeah sure, no fuckin way I would give mine up. But I don't live close to him. The risk of his reoffending in this scenario where it would impact on me or anyone I know is minimal. If I lived next door to him I may consider it.

I think the number of forum members with both a current FAL and 15 convictions for armed robbery is going to be .... nil

Unless this dick signs up I guess

Maybe we lobby, to have the politicians' lawyers teachers whatever, have to go thru the same process that a firearms licence requires "Fit and proper person" Ferk if Clint Rickard can be admitted to the bar Life is good
