Nicole Mckee on the Project NZ

I thought I'd start a thread on this as previously mentioned by @scottrods here.

    https://www.facebook.com/TheProjectN...c_location=ufi

Good to see Nicole deflecting totally crap journalism by Jesse Mulligan - A one worded response is hardly investigative or particularity knowledgeable to the viewers is it? What a fruitcake.

I was also disappointed to hear in the lead up to this interview; Why are the "Vegas shooter-style weapons" being sold in a school - Nothing but utter sensationalism & spreading of disinformation. The Wellington Militaria show has been held at St. Patrick's school hall for quarter of a century.

Here is a more well-balanced discussion on the matter from RNZ.

Loving the insinuation that firearms are just used for killing. He was only trying to fluster Nicole into a poor response and deflected the fact that anything in essence can be used as a weapon, or even acknowledge that the intent is the major factor.

The fact is that the general public only see firearms as killing objects and how we respond to the perception of that can either help or hinder the public's view.

Well done Nicole! When your dealing with PC people, with little knowledge of firearms, that accept the road toll, but live in fear of that one off exception, there's a lack of logic that is hard to argue.
Of course its about fear mongering and sensationalism, which doesn't help!

I really couldn't believe what i watched! It was the first time ive ever watched it and will be the last.
I'm not sure what was going on but i found myself lost throughout the whole segment. It was almost comical.
Ive seen better productions from school kids.

Jessie Mulligan - words fail me.
Dai Henwood - Stick to Family Feud, 500 car a minute? what a wnker.

The Star of the show was Nicole, I tip my hat good lady. I know she is not one to get flustered and proved her ability well. We have an excellent advocate right there. I'll have to shout you a beer next time we meet Nicole.

And not one of them considered the costs- 500 rounds a minute, and cheap ammo is around $1 a poke. Anyone got $500 for a minute? At least even a high class hooker would charge less than that......

    Dickheads...No a fu_king clue between them....

Mulligan henwood &co are there own worst enemies in this case ,and so it also reflects on TV3&mediaworks.Has it never occurred to these people thay like politics this is a bloody serious issue ,worthy of in depth balanced investigation and reporting.just this once if that was undertaken then people might show a modicum of respect.
they whine when their ratings are down or negative publicity arrives ,then wonder why.

Lets face it the standard of NZ journalism, except for a few cases is the pits. the second problem is the NZ media is a point of information if shallow for many ppl.

As far as 'balanced, investigative journalism goes, NZ journalists are less than honest about what 'studies' they undertake to get a journalism degree.
Having seen the result of supposed 'investigative journalism' in action, I'm disgusted that the general public accept this 'infotainment' as gospel.
It reflects on the dumbing down of our education system, where 'questioning' of the process by both parents and the degreed 'geeks' who develop our education programs, is ignored by the Gov't, who appear to treat constructive criticism as a personal attack on the current Minister.
Either there is a vitriolic attack on the questioner (Rob Muldoon), or a John Keys style deflection and non-answer, that satisfies the unprepared journo.
Our university teachers (with an academic 'white tower' mentality), needs to stop kowtowing to the Gov't, in pursuit of funding for studies of irrelevant activities, that have little or no relevance to the real world.
Our major problem is the Press and the 'creative number generator's' who represent our law enforcement.
The press (the uncapitalised word is my interpretation of the skills shown), depend on sensationalism - after all, falling ratings reflect on the paper/TV station, and the ability of these 'august bodies' to generate income from advertisers.
The mighty $ rules, not true journalism.
