From nearly removing his face to a close shave - the difference is stark, and not nearly as attention grabbing.

    Greetings All,
Hatcher did an experiment setting of a shot shell sitting on top of some cloth over a bar of soap. He was testing what would happen if a shotshell went of in someones shirt pocket. He set off the primer with an arc welder. There was a muffled bang from the primer and no damage to either the cloth or the soap under it. The crimp just opened up and spilled the shot with little force.

Reminds me of an event from my school days. One weekend in the boarding house 3rd form dorm, theres a loud bang, off we go to investigate and here is a very pale looking, wide eyed asian student with a circular burn mark on his desk pad and a 12g case that now looks like a star.

Turns out he had found the round down by the river (some duck shooter must have dropped it) and had decided to open it up with a screw driver. He had managed to extract the shot, wad and powder before beating down on the primer with the screw driver.
