Get in touch with Ruger direct. They have an awesome back-up service. You may be very surprised at their response.

Just looking at your photo of the blown out case.
    Geez, that looks so short.
Are you using .22 LR CCI Mini Mag, or the Short version?
Would that be a problem if using the 'Short'?
Pics to show both LR and Short CCI Mini Mags.

The photos show the extractor is in back to front! Someone has been fiddling!

    Ruger now own Marlin.

    Original request:

Marlin Papoose 22 lr, part 42 muck metal back attachment holes broken off, missing part 45 Magazine pin. Do you have these parts please and how much?

Thank you for contacting Ruger Customer Service.
    Your Customer Service Issue -----------
We do not have the parts, equipment, or expertise required to service existing, pre-Ruger, Marlin firearms. We hope you understand the constraints that limit our ability to service firearms made prior to our acquisition.
    Best Regards,
    Ruger Customer Service

    Glad your are safe
yes it looks a very short case ,but the blown bit is at the head .Perhaps it was just ammo related and not the Ruger 10/22
just get a Volquartsen extracter and have that fitted
Never had any problems with my 10/22s like this

Good spot. The hook part is in the bolt instead of the face where the rim goes.

I neglected to mention that with the extractor back to front (something I have never seen before which proves idiots are a developing species), if the case had not inevitably ruptured through lack of chamber support, it would have 'machine-gunned' the entire magazine without touching the trigger!

I thought that picture of the bottom of the receiver and bolt looked very odd - but couldn't place what was off with it. That makes it clear now from GD's comment - the extractor doesn't have a hook at all and is definitely not in right.

Alright, it's in H+Fs hands, they called the distributor and was told to send it to the gun smith so off it goes. Let's hope it gets fixed and I don't have to pay for it! Lol

But seriously they were quite helpful and understanding so fingers crossed eh?
