I've been offered this Briley tube set to buy, and the bloke suggested I try them first. They don't appear to have done much work. So, a round of skeet in each gauge scored 24 for 20g, 24 for 28g and 21 for .410.
No issues with the 20 and 28 performances, but I'm still curious about people's opinions about these short .410 tubes.
Stations 1 & 2, no problems hitting them. Missed H3 but got the repeat. Got both on station 4 but missed both on station 5.
Missed L6 single but hit it on the double. Missed nothing else.
The guy who coaches me isn't a fan of these short tubes and suggested I offer the owner $500 for the set as they might be useful to attach longer tube extensions to in the future. When I cleared Station 1, he said that wasn't what he expected.
I really don't think any of those misses were due to low pellet velocity arising from the short tubes, and I'm inclined to go ahead and buy them. What do I have to lose?
