Tweed or not to Tweed that is the question
Ok, I've battled through that lot (not the best place to read all that) and got jack out of it. In fact could even say bullshit to a couple of thing's that I've seen with my own eyes that are a straight contradiction of what they've said, ie: the bit about dogs not being aggressive with other dogs. No straight quote an I can't be arsed looking for it in that lot.
Still good to try a learn from things like this....
It isn't, I'd put it second to the other mentioned. It just goes into detail quite a bit about coercion and compulsion and its effects, thought it may be of interest to you...
You actually read it? I got about a minute in before the waft of bullshit became overpowering
Read the latest RnR article by Clark Reid. Commonsense goes a long way before you need a psychotherapist.
I would agree with Clarke on that but to have a rounded knowledge of this stuff also is a good investment into our selves and dog
Tweed or not to Tweed that is the question
I picked up a lot of bird dog books for $15 at a garage sale a few years back , in the bundle were "The Dog Whisperer" by Richardson and Cole ."The Dog Listener " by Jan Fennell , and "Troubles with Bird Dogs" by George Evans ,I have no idea what they say but if I ever have a problem with my dogs I'll read them
Get as close as you can then six feet closer
Bird dog books at a garage sale? Unheard of. I live in hope!
Two books I would recommend are:
"Dogs - A startling new understanding of Canine Origin. Behavior & Evoluation" by Raymond & Lorna Coppinger
"How to Help Gundogs Train themselves - taking advantage of Early Conditional Learning" by Joan Bailey

I enjoyed your post on dog behaviour El B. Very interesting reading. Not long ago I saw a short video clip on C.Milan doing something really over the top with a dog, which shortly afterward bit him. His early TV programs seemed ok to me, I haven't watched the latest ones. If he is now crouching and threatening dogs over food bowls then he needs a fuse changing
I have gotten home from after 15 hours work where the man snarls at me and the dog leaps up and down in excitement to see me...go figure
