Is that the first win for your pointer TeFerrarri?
Actually the win was one of many firsts for the day which
I chose NOT to brag over
I wouldn't see it as you bragging sharing that with us TeFerrarri
hehehe yeah I dress as a tall poppy at the trials wouldn't want anyone else doing it eh :thumbsup:next time ill wear me stubbies and red bands so you dont get upset , wouldnt want to be different :o
You didn't answer the question, why are they dressed as they are?
sorry was that a question to me --thats what many Kiwis are used to and where the modern age has taken what people wear in NZ .Pretty standard stuff . Personally Pointer at pigeon trials my preference would be a collar and tie .
It was an open question, but was hoping to hear your response. Do you see any of these people belittling others dress sense, and then asking others on a public internet forum for other alternatives to their ridiculous garb as their choice isn't practical? :)
I think collar and tie would be very nice, nothing wrong with that at all. Shows respect to both your fellow competitors and the sport.
i never be littled anyone at all Pointer please my read post and PM if you find something I have said . I have only mentioned the standard at events in NZ be it this or any other and the fact I do not like poly fluff -do PM and correct if you find something please
And yes I agree 100 percent with your last statement !!!!!
You referred to everyone as dressed like 'labourers' and 'ditch diggers', please check your own posts before you deny it. Can you tell me why they dress like that?
Answer me this Pointer do you think there should no standards at all at a sporting events Pointer when competing ?
Stop avoiding the question. Why are they dressed like rural NZers and outdoorsmen/women?
People turning up at events as that --no particular event or people -I did not identify any body at all -some chose to take that on themselves --a very big difference and that I stand by .I remeber an event I went to with a guy in poly fluff and stubbies lying down to shoot with the nags showing hahah a good example
It doesnt matter what people wear...please just take care and celebrate yours and everyone's beautiful dogs...because being without your beloved dog is just too painful.
answered already Pointer and properly .I would go past that answer tho and say social pressure probably has something to do with how people dress also now and what is pushed by manufacturers .I will give you an example I had this season meeting a guy on the road putting breaks on and apologizing for how he was dressed as he was going to Equine -I laughed and opened my door and said I wear them as a standard .
But in saying that I would wear moleskins to -Tweed is just MY thing .
No, they dress that way because that's what they are, rural NZers and outdoors folk. They're not pretenders. If you were to turn up in a shirt and tie, you would get compliments I'm sure. Pretending to be the reincarnation of Lord Ripon won't get you much admiration.
So if they dressed in breks they would be pretending or a woolen vest as I wear they would be pretending==to be what ?? The last statement is to tall poppy stuff for me haha but I am glad we can agree on a collar and tie being a good and acceptable standard
And then come on a public forum and ask for a more practical alternative as tweed is too hot? Maybe ask the ditch diggers, they know what is practical and functional
cotton , light wool fabric , moleskin
haha Pointer I dont expect everybody to wear Tweed thats my bent there are many other different smart outfits one can wear --plenty
Pointer do you think we should have a higher standard of dress from people than maybe what we see at some events or should people just come in whatever ?
hell this to and froing gets more bloody views than a good post :D crazy lol
Pointer and of course we are speaking about an event not out in the field
I think we should be doing our best to attract the future of the sport, the hunters, not exclude them. How one dresses is irrelevant.
As I said, its irrelevant. If the goal is finding the best dog, as it should always be, then how you turned up is meaningless
our sport Pointer is sooooo small and we curently attract so few as it is . I doubt we will be a growing sport as we are a dying breed changing the same as the styles and standards of cloths I am barking on about
I will differ to agree with you on that Pointer . The dogs is the most important for sure but to turn out well presented is as yousay a respect for your fellow competitors and for the public .As I say Pointer it is all so small in NZ it hardly matters and sadly getting smaller as time goes on
Pointer got me hooked and didnt dress funny. I must say I think it was seeing the dog pointing that got me ino it. All the excitment getting ready to fire.
I don't agree at all, But good luck nonetheless. Sport is a verb, for as long as it remains one it can't die. Whens the last time you introduced someone to your sport?
I am glad Pointer you and I can debate and discuss a subject with out abuse
Many in Europe in the warmer months ie trials de Printemps wear moleskins, a gilet, a tats shirt and sensible brogues...alores, some even wear t t tee sh sh sh shirts...rascillians!!! But ultimately, they are there, for their breed, for their dogs...just as we are.
fuck it, im getting a pointer pup to train up for trialling, im starting a new trend and im going to wear a onesie
is a onesie one of these Z lol
good summer suit for sure
