you aint got that on your own mate in rakaia we,ve had a few new chch movers in and they brought their fuckin mutts with them.we,re surounded by inconsiderate owners possibly nite shift workers cos thier bastard dogs dont bark during the dayanimal control if you cant reason with the owners

It's your brother and sister in laws house. Are they in it or renting it. Either way have a talk to him.

My sister, hubby and kids recently got a Jack Russell which they have no control over at all. When ever anyone visits the dog jumps all over you and they think it's neat. Brother in law will have it on his lap while eating at the table.
For this reason we don't go there any more and cancelled our family Christmas at their place

You could always send them up to Rushy for dog food however I have heard of a Chihuahua that killed a Great Dane when it got stuck in the Danes throat

pet owners are much like parents ... some of them train their dogs , look after them, etc etc , and others quite obviously just dont give a shit.

Same attitude as you see with your childrens peers at school .. the shit some of these kids just get away with has to be seen to be believed ...

Better still, go through the medicine cupboard, anything ending in "pam" is good...crush it up, mix with margarine and spread on bread...toss small pieces over the fence every few days...bliss

Ive been having trouble with a mastiff cross that lives over the road, never gets any attention from owners and likes to jump fences. was in my front yard the other day which I'm not to impressed about having a 2 yr old and a 6 month old.

I went over and bailed the owners up they were all like "yea we dont know how he gets out" I said "he jumps the gate, get him a run" she gave me the "oh no he wouldnt like that, he really is harmless"

I fuckin hate inconsiderate, ignorant and naive dog owners. Called dog control a couple of times since theyve also just got a little pup that whines all day sending stay-at-home mumsy bonkers. pretty sure dog control have had words to them cause last couple of weeks things have settled down but by fuck if I catch that mongrel in my yard again....

Been there with an untrained Boxer over the back fence, our bedroom backs onto that boundary....it barked at everything including its own shadow. It wasn't restrained, it roamed their property protecting its territory.
As a shift worker I found it intolerable.....the owners weren't worth discussing it with, they were part of the problem.

I finally rang Animal Control about the noise. You might be surprised if you do the same....I was, ....'cause the dog was known to them because of other complaints from neighbors. You may not be on your own in complaining.....it may go against the grain to do so, but you're entitled to some peace and quiet.
I'm sure they'd complain if you hosted the next CHC Forum piss up and rocked on till the early hours.

1/ If its your brother/sister inlaw you can always try talking to them about the issue.

2/ the three S method. shoot/shovel/Shhhhhh. obviously in such a built up are shooting is out but you get my drift.

3/ You can always call animal control.

3 b/ You can always leave the gate to their property open and ring animal control about the noise and that they are always roaming off property.

4/ Be aware that if you give them laxitives that they just might be made to live outside for a while and so increase your misery.

You could poison them of course,but that's a bloody nasty way for any animal to die let alone a dog !!!

I find hanging out the window and screaming 'shut up ya mongrel' every 5 mins at night when its barking gets the message across

yep "shut up ya mongel" works when they are outside, for a minute or two, then they start again,

looks like a round table meeting is on the agenda

Cat owners are bloody annoying too, while we're ranting my dog doesn't come into your yard and rip up your rubbish....I want to set up a trap. Sick of the bloody things messing up the place, shitting in my garden and getting into the bins!
