Thread: Good dog for a first timer?

Main hunting i do is just rabbits wallabies ect, so mainly on high country stations/farms. With the odd bit of deer stalking over the west coast when i get a chance. We are moving to a dairy farm (canterbury) in the next month hence the idea of being able to get a dog.
I like the idea of a visla but have herd they can be a lot of work? Mind you every dog is going to be a lot of work!
