Nice work,I note a large cow bell for your EB . I have used the bepper collar on my dog but it freaks him out and makes him heel when i want him to hunt
Where did you get the bell?
France...:D I forget how much I paid for it (2006). It has a deep resonance perfect for dismal overcast days, as you would expect for the likes of woodcock hunting.
do you have some photos to post of your dog EeeBees, did I see you in the latest pointer and setter mag in the gallery at the live game trials
The best trick is to cover the beeper with a bit of duct tape to make it quieter until they get used to it

that is a great trick RCGSP...but can you alter the tone etc?
good move! With mine you can alter hawk scream or beep but not the volume
There is one of Falco on this page...

the idea behind it but to date it does it to my dog instead:oh noes:
Depends on the model.
I can adjust the volume on mine and I have 2 collars with different tones. There are other models with selectable tone.
My old collars had the hawk scream but I'm not sure of the effect. With the bobwhites I think it kept them on the ground but I'm not sure on pheasants. Interestingly I've never had the beeper spook any birds.
I use mine on remote just to locate when the dogs get out of sight. I don't leave them turned on. I've used them for a long time and I've never had a dog that had a problem with them once they got used to them.
The first time Quick had a bell on he came into heel and stayed there for a while until he got used to it.
EB's could you explain the use for the bell?
was that a yes or no about you in the gallery?
I guess with bells you can have a number of different ones to change the tone etc...obviously not with the beeper collar...
mostly an older version of the beeper collar...you can imagine when roughshooting in the rough rough you can lose sight or where abouts of your dog...bells will certainly 'arrest' birds, as RCGSP points out with the bobwhites...the beeper collars have two noises, one when the dog is moving and another when the dog is on point (as in locked in the stationery!!)...it is a great piece of technology which I am not inclined to catch up with simply cos I love the bells...

this company is great to deal with...great service, speedy dispatch...
Yes I get all my gear from them. Have for years. Great place and great prices. They are located near my hometown.
my beeper cant be used with a remote -10 years old,i may go back to my bell if the tape trick doesn't work
thread some speights caps with some string and tie around the dogs neck , if you drink enough you can have multiple clacker collars
Substitute speights for some kind of good beer for a start. But what does it do?????
when your dogs on point it sounds, great if you cant see hm.also it can sound while he is running out of site
So it doesn't scare the game they are pointing?
By my way of thinking, with the amount of time and money I have into each of my dogs the beeper collar is a cheap investment to be able to locate them at any time, especially in an emergency. At least once this has meant the difference between life and death for a very experienced, valuable dog of mine so my dogs wear them all the time, every time.

How does a clacker collar sound on point?
Never heard of any of this stuff. Clacker collars, bleepers, what the hell else do you lot have?
Mine run naked 100% of the time, as any good gundog should.
lol you probably go to town in a horse and cart, get modern and get a bell:D
Nothing wrong with a horse and cart El B. plait the horses mane and polish the harness and you have yourself a real chick magnet right there.
I got a horse... no cart..... Far out... can you imagine a springer with a bell... LOL... it sound like a bloody orchestra!!!!

haha yeah it would for sure
The last time I was on a horse of that colouration I was riding like the clappers to lead an ambulance through woodhill Forest to where a woman lay with her pelvis broken front and back.. The poor bugger was knackered as I had riden him hard out to alert the ambulance and then hard back in as I thought she might have severe internal injuries (as if the pelvis wasn't bad enough).
Rushy you shoulda' just rung up Rin Tin Tin :)
Hmm. I hear Lassie's telepathy is a bit better. She (actually a 'he') would have helped you out! :)
