Just wondering what the best starter bow would be for deer, goats, tar and ect?
Thinking of somthing around like 50-70IB ranges

as a starter bow the man kung is pretty good. sights are rudimentary, comes with a whisker biscuit type rest. wife uses one and is happy with it. my concern over 2nd hand bows is how abused has it been. dry firing etc.
EK make reasonable starter bow too. or spend the big bucks and get a pse, bowtech etc
Drive up to advanced archery in Auckland. They will set you up.
With wheels or not? I shoot between 50-70lb longbows and recurves, but wouldn't recommend starting so heavy. Best to start at 30lb or so. All about the holding weight. If you're talking wheel bows, no idea. All I know is their holding weight is like my kid's bow, so no worries there.
the Bear RTH package are hard to beat as a starter deal!
like the G2 Cruzer if you want maximum versatility in weight and DL
I personally go with the Species EV
You will rapidly want to upgrade the rest and sight, but it is still something under 500$ to star and fun to shoot
Entirely depends on if you are wanting a compound bow or a traditional bow (recurve/longbow etc)
I like my pse atk hunter package. Would change the sights though. A 1 pin instead of 5 pin.
The best thing is to go to a reputable archery store or join an archery club so that you can try different bows and get a feel about what is right for you.
Bear in mind that bows need to be set up for you and your physique and arrows tailored to the bow and draw length.
It is a simple concept, but not so simple in execution!

A bit controversial, but for NZ, quite a good way to get people into archery... there are some surprisingly impressive entry level packages available from China (and retailers in Australia) like the Topoint T1 and Trigon, Junxing M128 and 129, and Sanlida Dragon X8 and X9. The bows are highly adjustable, from 17" to 30" drawlength, more or less, and 20-70 pounds draw weight, without the need for a bow press. Most clubs have someone that can help a beginner set a bow up so the drawlength amd weight are correct amd the peep aligned. New full packages are available shipped to NZ for about $600 to $800. - that gets a bow, 12 carbon arrows, rest, quiver, sight, release, stabiliser... and more handy stuff. Before you flame me, consider that the vast majority of people will simply not shell out for even entry level brand name bows, especially once you've added all the components - basic brand name kits run about $1400. That generally gets you a cast riser bow with several years old technology. Some of the Chinese offerings are CNC machined, come with Gordon limbs and BCY strings. If it gets more people into archery, surely this is a good thing?
